Here's two I remember that I really like! (Also these are definitely not my ideas originally but I cannot for the life of me remember where I first saw them)

For Dream it's that he's just as strong as Nightmare. Like you see Nightmare lifting his henchmen with his tentacles all the time, Dream should also be able to lift like 3 people at a time. I wanna do something silly with it in my truce au but here's Blue finding out in the meantime (he lost his phone and Dream's helping him look for it)

For Nightmare it's that he can also do the starry-eyed thing that Dream and Blue and Cross can. Dream knows he could do it when they were kids but assumes the corruption changed that, but really it just doesn't happen very often so none of them have seen it. This is how it looks

[[ i'm updating the canon point of this blog real soon which gets me the chance to talk about how much of a deadbeat dad eddie has been recently. part of my hope with the finale of this weeks comic was that he'd get to go home and raise his family proper ( like i hoped he'd do in 200 instead of ... being a god but whatever ). but also i do so love the narrative of WANTING to break the cycle, and yet in doing so you only perpetuate it. i relate to dylan in the fact that he must understand completely how busy eddie must be with all those responsibilities he held when he became the KIB; away from home so much that his contribution to dylan's most formative years can be pretty much negligible ( even after those years he's spent with carl ) aside from background things. but it will never be a replacement for all the time lost.

sure, eddie does the background stuff. he makes sure the symbiote is with him, wants to protect his son and all. he's there in somewhat of a sense. but he's not "there". dylan could learn so much more about his dad via google search than his experiences with him ( and i know the feeling ! ), and so opportunity for a heartfelt discussion or attempts at eddie being a more prominent member in dylan's life will fall pretty flat; dylan is, what, 14 now? I'm not saying it's all downhill from here, but the window of opportunity for dylan not to resent him for neglecting him is starting to dwindle, and I for one love that dylan still cares about his dad-- while harboring that complicated resentment.

i hope they do something with this in the comics in the future. but knowing how comics work, it'll either happen and i'll cheer or it won't and i'll have to fill in all those gaps in myself like an overworked housewife. ]]

his reprimand is responded to with a nod, a matching set of turquoise locked with his own, a smile sitting beneath the pair of his reflections. raven can only manage a few seconds more before giving a wave of his hand; as if shooing away his doppelganger.

as its master's head turned, the raven double cast its gaze over the mans shoulder. just in time to offer a grin to their newly gained witness before shrinking down to its distinct, blob-y silhouette. with a wriggle, raven's ditto offers another repeat of its name; its own version of a 'hello'. at least that's how the former-archer is interpreting it.

"oh, it's just yuri." a pause, gaze shifting to the briefcase the other carried at his side. style of dress was far from what he was used to seeing the boy in, too. "y'know ya can't go sneakin' up on an old man like that! gettin' spooked this late in my years could end up catastrophic."

i started watching a youtube video about cinemasins that just kind of mocks it for yknow being a content machine and whittling media criticism down to incredibly simple superficial observations like "this things has tropes/cliches" (not even mentioning how a lot of times those tropes and cliches are literally just. customs. things people do in real life, cultural details that someone would include in a story because again real people write things and they live in the fucking world. wearing all black to a funeral for example i remember they called that a cliche a lot) or "the director made choices" or "this thing is in a genre and has scene decoration fit to the genre or meant to convey meaning to the viewer!" like those are bad things instead of how you tell stories and by and large depreciating the ability of its viewers to conduct media analysis and watch things genuinely and appreciate art and meaning. okay the youtuber didn't say all of that specifically a lot of that is my opinion based on how in middle school i watched cinemasins a lot and observations i've made about people the same age as me who i can surmise also watched cinemasins based on how they watch movies and nitpick things like "this thing has tropes" and "this thing would never happen in real life/a person would never say or do this in real life" because cinemasins has distilled in them a lack of ability to engage in a story as a story crucially i cannot say it simpler than that as a story as a narrative someone wrote based on an idea they had because it was cool or to do something or mean something or have an effect and everything that happens is written by someone or a choice made by an actor because these aren't real people and the purpose of art is to AUUUGHHH I GOT DISTRACTED AGAIN!!!! THE POINT OF THIS POST IS i was watching the video and being like haha yeah hate those guys and then they played a clip from cinemasins to demonstrate what they meant and hearing the cinemasins guy's voice knocked me flat i had to pause the video and come write this post bc i had to recuperate
